Stationary Compactors – Stationary compactors are great for handling dry waste in large quantities. Typically, industrial and manufacturing facilities use this type of equipment. These compactors are bolted into place and the waste gets compacted into a receiver box. When the receiver box gets full, it is pulled out and taken away to be emptied by the trash hauler.

Self-Contained Compactors – Self-contained compactors are used for managing high volumes of liquid waste. Companies that benefit from this type of compactor include apartment complexes, grocery stores, hospitals, manufacturing companies, and many more. With self-contained compactors, the container is attached to the compactor. When the container is full, the entire compactor gets hauled away to be emptied. The machine slides on and off guide islands which are bolted to the floor.

Vertical Compactors – Vertical Compactors compact trash downward into removable containers. They work with dry and liquid waste. Multiple containers can be onsite to reduce the number of waste hauls. These compactors can be designed for rear or front load waste pick-ups. Companies that use these compactors include nursing homes, movie theaters, shopping malls and retailers.

Apartment Compactors – Apartment compactors are specifically designed for high-rise, multi-family buildings. Trash is usually fed through the trash chute which drops down into the compactor. They are controlled by an electric photo-eye. Multiple containers can also be kept onsite for these compactors which help reduce the number of trash hauls needed. Our experienced Reddy Equipment team works with contractors to design and install trash chutes and compactors on new apartment builds. We also help existing apartment complexes obtain the correct waste management solution to fit that building.

Auger Compactors Auger Compactors are electric-driven instead of the use of hydraulic power to compact waste. Auger compactors can be safer for the environment in the sense that they do not use hydraulics so there is no potential for hazardous fluid leaks. They have higher compaction ratios due to the ability to break the trash into smaller pieces prior to compacting the trash. Companies that have high-volume dry waste such as industrial companies tend to choose auger compactors.
